ALOPECIA

The word Alopecia actually means ‘hair loss’ and there are several types of alopecia. The most common of these is known as ‘androgenetic alopecia’ otherwise known as male or female pattern baldness. While men typically suffer pattern baldness with receding hairlines and bald spots on the crown of the head, women typically experience generalized thinning over the entire top of the head.

Autoimmune disorders such as Alopecia Areata / Totalis or Universalis, occur when the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks itself and more commonly, the deepest part of the hair follicle resulting in temporary hair loss.

This can vary from patchy hair loss over any area of the scalp – alopecia areata, to loss of all scalp hair – alopecia totalis, or even loss of all scalp and body hair, including eyebrows and eyelashes – alopecia universalis.

Laser Hair Recovery

Therapeutic red light stimulates blood supply to the hair bulb and scalp, increasing the number of red blood cells that deliver vital oxygen and nutrients. This activity breaks down the collection of dihydrotestosterone ( DHT ) the hormone responsible for hair loss, thus encouraging healthy hair follicles into regrowth.
